15 reasons why your relationship may fail

I just wanted to write a funny post about how relationships can be predictable by seeing the nature/behavior of one's partner. It is only for the sake of laughing it off. But this post also sheds some light on bitter reality. I'm writing this from a girl's perspective, hence, the use of "he". The drawings are done by me! <3

                15 reasons why your relationship may fail:



1. Everything moves fast. As soon as you accept that person, he tells you that you are his final choice and he is going to marry you. He says that you are the best person he has ever met and you are so amazing. He makes a checklist of things he wants in a girl. He tells you that you have everything he wants. Very quickly, he makes plans of future. He ponders over the idea of honeymoon and how he wants to have twins. All of this is very alarming because it’s just the start of relationship, and he starts giving you all hopes. Soon, before you know it, he will be with another girl and gives these hopes. Likewise, if relationship speeds up, it’s merely an obsession or desperateness.

2. He says negative things about his ex. He tells you that the reason why he stopped loving her. He mentions that she was a big liar and created a lot of drama. He compares her to a chameleon which keeps on changing its colors. Yet, he is still in touch with her and says that she is still after him. Note: If he talks bad about his ex, he will also talk in the same way about you to his new girl. Besides, you will later realize that he was the one who had all the issues. And his ex-girl got lucky to be away from him.



3. High demand and show off. He tries to show you that so many girls want to be with him. According to him, he is so “cool” in his college. Everyone drops dead at his entrance in the class. If you question him about his faithfulness, he will quickly add that he could have any other girl but he’s sticking with you. Him: “You think I've got no offers? ;3”. What this all means is that, you are still a source of entertainment to him and he hasn't seen a potential new supply to move on to.

4. Adjustment. He tries to instill the lie upon your mind that everything can be worked out if there is “adjustment”. This is a warning sign because he knows he’s an undesirable person with all bad qualities and he wants you to see past them by thinking that everybody is same and all is needed is adjustment. Soon, you will be compromising about everything and keeping him up high on the throne. Then, when he has totally brainwashed you about the lie of adjustment. He will be gone.



5. Friends circle. He has friends who are negative influences and he trusts them completely. Sure, they will be all friendly and act nice towards you in the beginning. You will notice weird things about them. You will find out they are just as aimless as he is. And how they can’t keep any relationship for long. These signs bring it to the next phase where they will try to come in between you and him. They tell him that he should change his girlfriend. It makes him think:” You only live once right? Then I should have fun and be with loads of people.” If friends can influence his actions, that evokes danger. It’s safe to stay away.

6. Monogamy 1:1(or so you thought). He makes you think that he really values the idea of being with a single person all his lifetime. No dishonesty, no cheating, no swapping of partners, no new supply. He will try to prove you in a million ways how “honest” he is. He will say if he cheats then he will feel so guilty and won’t be able to sleep at night. But soon, the other day, he will show no guilt or remorse over changing to next girl. He will tell you that he is trying “1:1” with her now. So, if a person is too honest to be true, the thing is he probably isn't honest at all.


7. Mood swings and emotional issues. He listens to “gloomy” songs. He keeps getting into depressive trances. His emotions seem so unpredictable, one moment he may be happy, and the other he is in “rage” mood. Sometimes, you wonder whether he really feels “love” as emotion. If he keeps having unstable thoughts and feelings, he will try to run one partner to next to see if he’s missing out on anything. What he really likes is that phase where he feels attracted by mysteriousness of a new person, and how she doesn't know what he really is like. Once he knows her fully, it gets boring, by that time, the girl also knows him fully and feels sorry for herself.

8. Crazy romance/comedy movie fan.  Why would he watching tremendous amount of Rom-coms be an issue? Well, scientists say that ‘Rom-coms’ give people unrealistic – and potentially unhealthy – expectations about real-life relationships. Those who watch romantic comedies are more likely to believe in predestined love, fate, and perfect soul mate. They are also more likely to believe that perfect relationships happen instantly, and are less likely to believe that couples need to work at relationships. Does it sound familiar? His movie choices elicited his actions of “crazy love” in the beginning of relationship. Hence, a disaster will be brewing up.

9. Slow response. He feels it unnecessary to reply your text message. When you are in relationship he never has balance or replies the next day. Later, when he moves on to next, if you send him a text, he will say that he accidentally deleted it and didn't even read what was written in it.

10. Sluggard. He admits he’s very lazy. In such a way that it may be an attractive quality to lure others. He says he would be a full time gamer if his wife worked and supported him. He is used to having his family members do everything for him. If this is so, he will treat you like you’re there to help him to do it all like he has had it at home. You will only be seen as a person to cook, and take care of him, not only that, you will also be having a job outside. He’s just going to sit at his computer and play some online games.


11. Transferring of responsibility. It’s a girlfriend’s duty to help him with all his assignments. To write him essays. To help him with projects. Or simply choose the topic for his speech. And that’s not enough, you have to prepare the whole speech for him. You do it. And turns out he chose another topic himself. Once he sees that you are willing to put up with his works and assignments, he will see you as a target to keep asking help. When you turn him down, he will get grumpy and act all insane. Basically, he’s just using you as utility.

12. Stuck in comfort zone. Anything that undermines or threatens his “small little world” will be put off by him. He’d rather not take risks. He’s fine where he is. He’s OK to be a follower. He can’t see far into his future. He always thinks of the present because “future” is too scary to think about.

13. Traditional. He tries to control everything you do. He still hasn't gotten over being “prince” of his family. He will comment on your looks and pick your clothes. Basically, his ideas are still stuck around the taboos of clothing and fashion. It may also be due to the society he lives in. He says that he’s orthodox. He also has belief in horoscopes and “future” readings. The outcome? You’re going to be controlled and manipulated.

14. Common ambition. He has that average dream of finding a job, marrying a girl and having kids. He has no originality. If you also have same thoughts, this may not matter. But if you are one of those who are unique and want to achieve great things in your life, he sure is going to be a hindrance, he won’t let you do what you want to do because for him, only his needs are important. 

15. Realist. Well, it’s a word that he uses in place of “Pessimist”. He doesn't like to be optimistic about anything. He just worries too much. He picks up fights about small little things. You will not be treated the way you were at first, because his so called “realism” will fade into negative thoughts and hopelessness.

Emotive Function of Language in Lawrence’s “Spring Funeral”

“The Spring Funeral” is an excerpt taken from” The White Peacock”, the first novel of D.H Lawrence. The novel was written in 1906 but finally published in 1911 after three revisions. It is narrated in the first person by a character named Cyril Beardsall. The spring funeral takes place in the chapter 2 “The shadow in spring”. This particular section, is a pastoral elegy, that raises the issues propounded in Emotive Theory by I.A. Richards, such as valorization of nature, synasthesia, human sensibility and organicity. In the description of spring funeral, the writer like a painter, depicts the early spring season with the vibration of the non-human world, the birds like larks, thrush, lapwings and the black-legged lamb. Wouldn’t it be nice if we could get the person whom we love most? What if love was easy to get? What if we didn’t have to love someone secretly? I wish things would work out with a girl I love.
